Frank Burch scrapbook, photographs, and negatives, 1914-1920 and undated.

Collection comprises 49 pages from a scrapbook, as well as loose photographs and negatives. The scrapbook pages hold photographs and postcards featuring the U.S. Naval hospital in Cañacao Bay, Philippines, although there are a few images labeled "China." Many of the images have identifying information written in white ink. Topics include the hospital campus, wards, and personnel; local sites, leisure activities, including carnival; local inhabitants and workers, and their tropical diseases; and airplanes. There are several aerial views of the hospital and the surrounding area. Items placed in the front of the scrapbook include a handwritten list (undated) requesting reprints of photographs, as well as a greeting card written to Burch in 1920. Accompanying the scrapbook are 116 loose black-and-white photographs and two negatives, all featuring the same topics. A few of the loose photographs had color ink added after processing; several are duplicates. The hospital at Cañacao Bay was destroyed during the Japanese invasion of the Philippines in World War II.
